(Teacher): The Prophet Muhammad (sall-Allahu alayhi wa sallam) told us that we must obey Allah and His messenger at all times. But after that, who else did he tell us to listen to, and be close to?

المعلمة: أخبرنا النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم أن طاعة الله ورسوله واجبة علينا في كل الأوقات. لكن بعد ذلك، من أخبرنا أيضاً بالاستماع  له و بصحبته؟

(Children): Your Mother!

الأطفال: أمك
(Teacher) Yes! Well done!

أجل! أحسنتم!

Who should I give my love to?

من يجب علي أن أعطيه حبي؟
my respect and my honour to?

واحترامي وإجلالي؟
Who should I pay good mind to - after Allah,
And Rasullullah?

من يجب علي أن أصغي إليه – بعد الله ورسوله؟

Comes your Mother

تأتي أمك؟
Who next? Your Mother

ثم من؟ ثم أمك
Who next? Your Mother

ثم من؟ ثم أمك
And then you Father

ثم أبوك
because who used to hold you

لأنه من كان يمسك بك
And clean you and clothe you?

وينظفك ويكسيك؟
Who used to feed you

ومن كان يطعمك
And always be with you?

ودائما يكون معك؟
When you were sick, stay up all night,

وعندما تكون مريضا، يسهر كل الليل
Holding you tight?

ويمسك بك بقوة
That’s right no other, my Mother

ذاك حقا لا أحد غير أمي
Who should I take good care of,

من يجب علي أن أهتم  به
Giving all my love?

مقدما له كل حبي؟
Who should I think the most of - after Allah

من يجب علي أن أفكر فيه أكثر – بعد الله
And Rasullullah?

وبعد رسول الله؟
Comes your Mother,

تأتي أمك،
Who next? Your Mother

ثم من؟ ثم أمك

And then your Father

ثم بعد ذلك أبوك
because who used to hear you

لأنه من كان يسمعك
Before you could talk?

قبل أن تستطيع التكلم؟
Who used to hold you

من كان يمسك بك
Before you could walk?

قبل أن تستطيع المشي؟
And when you fell, who’d pick you up?

وعندما تسقط أرضا، من يرفعك؟
Clean your cut?

وينظف جرحك؟
No one but, your Mother, my Mother

لا أحد غير أمك، أمي
Who should I stay right close to?

من يجب علي أن أظل بالقرب منه؟
Listen most to?

وأستمع له أكثر
Never say no to – after Allah

ولا أقول له لا أبد ا– بعد الله
And Rasullullah?

وبعد رسول الله

وبعد ذلك أبوك
because who used to hug you

لأنه من كان يحضنك
And buy you new clothes?

ويشتري لك ثياباً جديدة؟

Comb your hair and blow your nose?

يمشط شعرك وينفث أنفك؟
And when you cried who wiped your tears?

وعندما تبكي من يجفف دموعك؟
Knows your fears? Who really cares?

ويعرف مخاوفك؟ من حقاً يهتم بك؟

Who is Rashid Bhikha?

Name: Rachid Bhikha

Origin: South Africa

Language: English
Rashid son of famous singer/songwriter Zain Bhikha made his singing debut back in 2002 on his fathers album ‘Our World’. Since then he appeared on Yusuf Islam’s "I Look, I See" album gaining him popularity worldwide. Then, Rashid was 10 years old, at the age of 13 he recorded the song ‘Can’t U See’ a departure from his usual style but one which he thoroughly enjoyed especially when the message is one that we all truly need to hear.

He said: Your mother. He, again, said: Then who (is the next one)? He said: It is your mother (who deserves the best treatment from you). He said: Then who (is the next one)? He (the Holy Prophet) said: It is your mother. He (again) said: Then who? Thereupon he (The Prophet (peace be upon him)) said: It is your father."
